French President Emmanuel Macron delivered a speech from Tirana at the International Forum FII (Future Investment Initiative), a global platform that brings together political leaders and top corporate executives from around the world to discuss innovation, investments, and the future of the global economy.

Macron called on representatives of the participating countries to invest in Albania, as, according to him, the country has strong leadership and a secure future heading towards the European Union, Euronews Albania reports.

He emphasized that this call is not only because Prime Minister Edi Rama is his friend, but also because with the mandate he has received, Albania will move towards EU membership within two years.

Macron added that this process will be strongly supported by France and Germany.

“It is extremely good to have you in Europe. I know you come from different parts of the world, and this is a stable and reliable country. In this world, do not underestimate the power of such qualities, and I am very happy you are here. Beyond the jokes I make with Prime Minister Edi Rama, here in Albania you clearly have an important entry point into the Western Balkans, and beyond that. Albania is a key point in the Mediterranean and in Europe. Therefore, I encourage you to invest in Albania because it has strong leadership. I’m not just saying this because he is my friend, but because he has delivered results. In the next two years, with a clear mandate, Albania will become part of the European Union, and I want to assure you that we, as Europeans, will deliver results. We already have a strong alignment between France and Germany, and we will do our utmost to realize the agenda we have discussed. Please, invest in Europe, believe in the strong Europe we are building, because we need your trust and investments. This will help us achieve this ambitious agenda, which is right not only for Europeans but also for other regions, to create more stability,” Macron said to the forum participants.
