During the 6th European Political Community Summit, held for the first time in Tirana, Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković co-chaired a high-level roundtable titled “An Open Europe with Secure Borders.”
The discussion focused on the pressing issues of migration, mobility, and youth empowerment, highlighting both shared concerns and country-specific challenges. Despite differences between states, President Osmani emphasized that a common understanding emerged: ensuring security and upholding the rule of law are essential foundations for effective policies and sustainable solutions.
“While the challenges vary from country to country, one thing was clear—commitment to security and the rule of law remains central to meaningful, long-term strategies,” Osmani wrote in a Facebook post.
The summit brought together 47 European leaders, marking a historic moment for the Western Balkans and positioning Tirana as a focal point for dialogue on shared European priorities and partnerships.
