Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that Kosovo’s institutions are doing their utmost to ensure the swift release of former MP Gramos Agusholli, who was recently arrested in Serbia.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MFAD) has conveyed the government’s position. We are doing everything in our power to ensure that former MP and our colleague, Gramos Agusholli, is released as soon as possible,” Kurti said.

He made this statement following a graduation ceremony for 12th-grade students of the hairstyling program at the “Shtjefën Gjeçovi” Competence Center in Pristina.

Agusholli was detained earlier today by Serbian authorities at the Merdare border crossing while in transit to Slovenia, according to Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The MFAD strongly condemns this arbitrary act by Serbian authorities and calls on the International Community to react immediately, demanding the immediate release of Mr. Gramos Agusholli and an end to such repressive practices, which violate fundamental principles of international law and international human rights conventions,” the ministry stated in its press release.
