Vetëvendosje MP Xhelal Sveçla has issued a strong statement condemning Serbia’s discriminatory policies toward Albanians in the Presheva Valley, stressing that Serbia is carrying out an ethnic cleansing campaign against this community, reports Rks News.

He emphasized the commitment of the Kosovo Police to community integration, pointing out that 10% of the police force consists of minority communities, with over 50% of them being Serbs.

In the last three recruitment rounds specifically aimed at minority communities, 210 new members from the Serb community have been accepted. In contrast, Sveçla condemned the complete absence of Albanians in Serbia’s police force in Presheva, Bujanovc, and Medvegja, where no Albanian candidates were accepted in the latest hiring rounds.

He stated: “Serbia is systematically discriminating and carrying out ethnic cleansing against Albanians in the Presheva Valley by denying them their basic rights.”

Sveçla concluded with a call for urgent international intervention to stop such practices.

“This discrimination must end immediately and receive the deserved condemnation from the international community.”
