The building of the Faculty of Theology in Belgrade is currently under physical blockade following a controversial decision by the faculty administration to schedule an exam session without first compensating for missed classes.
According to a report from N1 journalist, the blockade is not yet fully enforced.
Although an agreement was reportedly reached a day earlier, the student assembly did not approve it, prompting students to gather again this morning in front of the faculty building to continue their protest.
Student Assaulted by Security Guard
An incident occurred yesterday morning when a faculty security guard physically assaulted a student by striking them. Students have announced that the case will be reported to the police.
Inside the building, exams from the January–February session are still being held, while students continue dialogue with the dean.
The situation has been described as tense and uncertain since early morning.
Escalating Pattern of Violence Against Student Protesters
This is not the first time protesting students demanding their educational rights have faced pressure and violence. Young people advocating for fairer and more transparent academic conditions are frequently subject to verbal and physical abuse, both by staff and individuals opposing their demands.
Despite the pressure, students emphasize their commitment to peaceful resistance, calling on the public and responsible institutions to safeguard their security and fundamental rights.
