On the occasion of Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bajrami), the leadership of the Islamic Community of Kosovo (BIK) received the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti along with members of his cabinet.
In addition to Kurti, the delegation included Deputy Prime Minister Emilia Rexhepi, Besnik Bislimi, Faton Peci, Hajrulla Çeku, and Kurti’s advisor.
While speaking in front of the cameras, Mufti Naim Tërnava addressed Kurti with a mix of humor and concern:
“I thought about inviting all the MPs to sacrifice a sheep. Maybe it’ll bring you some luck. Maybe the road will open. I also talked about birthrates—I’ve suggested that anyone who has four or five children should be given an apartment, because Kosovo is shrinking. Birthrates have fallen a lot,” said Tërnava.
Later, Tërnava turned to Besnik Bislimi, referencing the ongoing Kosovo-Serbia dialogue:
“How are the talks going over there?”
Bislimi responded with a laugh:
“We’ve found some kind of middle ground,”
while the rest of his response was not clearly audible.
