n honor of the 26th anniversary of Kosovo’s Liberation Day, Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti paid tribute at the grave of the distinguished activist Adem Demaçi, praising his figure as a symbol of resistance and dedication to freedom.

Speaking to the media, Kurti emphasized Demaçi’s significance in the history of Albanian resistance and his connection to the symbolism of June 12 as the day of liberation from the Serbian regime.

“Baca Adem, Adem Demaçi, when he was released from prison, said that he came out of a small prison into a large prison, because we were under the brutal occupation of Serbia, with a chauvinistic anti-Albanian regime,” Kurti stated. “Therefore, Liberation Day, June 12, is like the breaking of a large prison called Kosovo, because the people were liberated, and all the police and military forces of Serbia were withdrawing. So today, on the Day of Liberation and peace, we laid fresh flowers at Baca Adem’s grave as a symbol of our resistance and an unwavering activist who never spared himself and gave everything for the best of our country.”
