Albania is set to host the Ministerial of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) today. This was announced yesterday by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who underscored the event’s significance for Albania’s standing.

Rama stated that the official government in Tirana is fully committed to promoting the progress of regional countries towards EU integration.

“Albania, once again at the center of international diplomacy. On June 16, 2025, the Ministerial of the South-East European Cooperation Process will take place. Our country is fully committed to promoting the progress of the region’s countries towards EU integration,” he said.

Tirana assumed the SEECP Chairmanship for the period of July 2024 to June 2025, following Skopje. Sofia will be the next chair.

The South-East European Cooperation Process was initiated in 1996 during the meeting of participating countries’ Foreign Ministers in Sofia, while the first SEECP Summit was held in Crete in 1997.
