Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has issued a stern warning to the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah, stating that the group “will cease to exist” if it launches any attack on Israel in support of Tehran, Rks News reports.

In a post on the social platform X (formerly Twitter), Katz said, “The Secretary General of Hezbollah is failing to learn from the mistakes of his predecessors and is threatening to act under the orders of the Iranian dictator.”

He emphasized that Israel’s patience toward terrorist threats has run out: “If there is terrorism, there will be no more Hezbollah.”

Katz’s statement comes after Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem declared on Thursday that his group would respond “as it sees fit” to what he called the “brutal Israeli-American aggression” against Iran.

However, Hezbollah officials have previously stated they do not intend to start a new war with Israel. A source from the group told Reuters last week that Hezbollah has no immediate plans to launch new attacks.
