Kosovo’s Olympic judo champion, Nora Gjakova, has achieved a new milestone beyond the tatami, reports Rks News.
On Thursday, she was appointed as a member of the International Judo Federation’s (IJF) Athletes’ Commission, following a nomination by the federation’s Executive Committee.
Her mandate is for four years and begins immediately.
The Kosovo Judo Federation welcomed the achievement, highlighting Gjakova’s contributions as an Olympic champion, world medalist, and European champion, and praising her dedication and experience, which will make her an outstanding global representative of athletes
