The Commander of the KFOR mission, Major General Enrico Barduani, met today with Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, and the Minister for Communities and Returns, Elbert Krasniqi, reports Rks News.
The meeting focused on the current security situation in the country and the importance of institutional cooperation. During the discussion, General Barduani reiterated KFOR’s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all communities living in Kosovo.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate — based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 — to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, and to ensure freedom of movement at all times,” the official statement said.
The NATO-led mission also announced that it will continue to work in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX in fulfilling their roles as security responders.
