The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) announced today that it conducted a monitoring operation at two key locations where Serbian community activities for Vidovdan were held: Gračanica and Gazimestan.
Monitoring and Assessment
According to a press release, IPK monitoring teams were present on the ground from early morning, closely observing the management of public order and the implementation of the police operational plan.
“During the monitoring conducted on the ground, IPK did not identify any irregularities or inappropriate behavior by police officials. The overall conduct of police officials and the management of the situation were generally assessed as professional and in accordance with police conduct standards and human rights,” the statement said.
The IPK specifically praised the Kosovo Police’s operational plan as “well-structured and effectively implemented,” contributing to the maintenance of security and public order throughout the event.
Commitment to Oversight
The IPK added that it will continue to exercise its legal function independently and impartially, monitoring and investigating any potential unlawful or unprofessional actions by police officials, in the interest of accountability, transparency, and the protection of citizens’ rights in the Republic of Kosovo.
