Kosovo’s acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, held a meeting today with the Commander of the Italian Joint Operations Command, Lieutenant General Giovanni Maria Iannucci.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, this meeting is part of the ongoing commitment to strengthen the partnership between Kosovo and Italy in the field of security and defense.
“During the meeting, the current security situation in the country was discussed, and the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation, with a special focus on the defense industry, was emphasized. Minister Maqedonci thanked General Iannucci for the continuous support Italy has provided to Kosovo, especially through its contribution to the KFOR mission, where Italy is the country with the largest troop participation,” the statement reads.
Furthermore, it was highlighted that both parties expressed their commitment to continue their joint engagement with the aim of preserving stability and peace in Kosovo and the wider region.
