The United Nations Human Rights Council announced today that it is closely monitoring the current situation in Serbia due to reports of violence.
“We are closely following the situation after reports of violence, harassment, and arbitrary detention of demonstrators,” the Council stated on the social media platform X.
The UN body urged authorities to “show restraint and respect freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, as well as confidence-building measures, to open the way for the renewal of the social contract,” according to the statement reported by Beta.
