Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has reacted following the bomb threat made on July 5 targeting the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, calling it a “hybrid attack” aimed at destabilizing the country’s institutions, reports Rks News.
“According to initial data, the threat was made from a Serbian-registered phone number belonging to the telecom company MTS,” Sveçla stated in his response.
He added that the user of this number was or is Serbian citizen Lazar Živković, and several social media profiles connected to this individual reportedly used the image of war criminal Ratko Mladić.
Sveçla underlined that Kosovo’s security institutions are treating the matter with the highest priority, and the country will seek international support to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The attackers and those making threats, even if sheltered in Serbia and backed by the Serbian state, will not escape responsibility,” Sveçla declared.
