Massive Fire Engulfs Wheat Field in Peja, Causing Extensive Damage

A large-scale fire engulfed a wheat field in the village of Nabërgjan, Peja, yesterday, resulting in significant material damage.

10 Hectares Burned, Machinery Damaged

According to sources from Gazeta Sinjali, the incident was reported yesterday around 9:00 AM, after an area of approximately 10 hectares caught fire, also damaging a harvesting agricultural machine.

Police units, firefighters, investigators, and crime scene technicians responded to the scene. The fire was localized, but the damage caused is extensive. According to the victim, K.B., around 46 years old, the estimated value of the damage is approximately 15,000 euros.

Suspect Identified, Released; Investigation Continues

Police escorted M.B., around 35 years old, the operator of the harvesting machine, as a suspect. He was interviewed regarding the case and subsequently released under regular procedure, by order of the State Prosecutor.

A criminal case for the offense of “Causing General Danger” has been initiated in connection with this event and will be processed by the Basic Prosecution in Peja.
