The Kosovo Police have arrested three suspected individuals in flagrante delicto for activities related to the sale and possession of narcotic substances. This operation was conducted as part of the implementation of the operational plan “Summer Season 2025.”

The Operation and Incident

According to an official police announcement, on July 16, 2025, investigators from the Directorate for Investigation of Narcotics Trafficking – Prizren observed a suspicious vehicle containing two individuals. During surveillance, one of them was seen handing a quantity of narcotic substance to a third person, who was in another parked vehicle nearby.

“Following these actions, police investigators arrested the three suspects. Two of the suspects from the first vehicle had initially attempted to flee the scene, in which case they struck two parked cars, causing an accident with material damages,” the Kosovo Police statement confirmed.

Evidence Seized and Legal Proceedings

Acting on the order of the supervising prosecutor, searches were conducted at the homes of two of the suspects. From the searches and the control at the scene, authorities seized:

  • 2 kg and 358 grams of suspected marijuana, divided into doses for sale (with an estimated value of approximately 11,000 euros on the illegal market).
  • 115 euros in cash.
  • An electronic scale.
  • Plastic bags and foil for packaging the narcotic substance.
  • Two mobile phones.
  • One vehicle with local license plates.

“The suspected persons involved in the case were escorted to the police station and interviewed in the presence of defense lawyers. By decision of the state prosecutor, two of the suspects were detained for 48 hours, while the third suspect, in consultation with the supervising prosecutor, had a case initiated against them for possession of narcotic substances under Article 269 of the KPRK (Kosovo Penal Code) in a regular procedure,” the announcement concluded.

The Kosovo Police continue to appeal for cooperation from citizens in preventing and combating criminal offenses related to narcotics, especially during the summer season when the risk of distribution and trafficking is higher.
