The United States Embassy in Pristina has called on Kosovo’s political parties to respect the 30-day deadline for the constitution of the Assembly, as mandated by the recent ruling of the Constitutional Court.

The U.S. Embassy noted that this deadline is rapidly approaching. “We observe that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has recommended that the Assembly be constituted within 30 days of its decision, and this date is approaching,” the U.S. Embassy stated.

Responsibility of Political Leadership

The embassy emphasized that constituting the Assembly is the responsibility of the political leadership.

“It is the responsibility of political leaders to constitute the Assembly and form a stable government, in accordance with the Constitution,” the embassy told RTV21.

The U.S. Embassy also expressed its anticipation of cooperating with the new government. “The United States has long supported Kosovo’s democratic development and looks forward to working with the future government to advance regional stability, security, and prosperity,” the U.S. Embassy concluded.
