Pristina, August 3, 2025 — Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, has strongly condemned hate speech directed at Albanians in North Macedonia, describing it as a serious threat to democratic and European values.
His reaction comes after chants such as “death to Albanians” and “gas chambers for Albanians” were heard in a sports hall in North Macedonia, during an event attended by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and a government delegation.
In a Facebook post, Krasniqi called the messages “unacceptable and damaging to coexistence not only in North Macedonia but beyond.”
“Albanians are a state-forming nation in North Macedonia and key partners on the Euro-Atlantic path. Hate speech against them is not only dangerous but deeply contrary to the democratic and European values that should unite our peoples,” he emphasized.
