The head of the PDK party, Memli Krasniqi, met today at party headquarters with the European Union’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Peter Sorensen.

During the meeting, Krasniqi emphasized the urgent need to advance Kosovo’s European integration and called for the removal of punitive measures that he said are “unjustly harming the citizens of Kosovo.”

Krasniqi also expressed his concern about Serbia’s arbitrary arrests of Kosovo citizens and the negative impact these actions have on efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

In a full statement, Krasniqi also underscored the necessity of a speedy establishment of new and legitimate institutions as a prerequisite for restoring trust and democratic functionality. He stated that only then can the dialogue process take the right direction, through a fair and coordinated approach with mutual recognition at the center of a final agreement.

Krasniqi concluded by stating that the PDK remains committed to Kosovo’s European path and is grateful for the EU’s role in the process.
