Hundreds of protesters marched through the streets of Jerusalem and other major Israeli cities, expressing strong opposition to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan for a full military invasion of Gaza City.

Among the demonstrators was former soldier Max Kresch, who held a sign stating: “I Refuse.” Kresch said, “Over 350 soldiers who served during the war are refusing to continue participating in Netanyahu’s political war,” according to BBC, cited by Klankosova.tv.

The protests extended to Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, sending a clear message of resistance to escalating the conflict and demanding the immediate return of hostages held by Hamas.

The Israeli government’s security cabinet-approved plan includes five core principles aimed at ending the war:

  • Disarm Hamas
  • Release all hostages
  • Demilitarize the Gaza Strip
  • Establish Israeli control over security in Gaza
  • Create a civilian administration independent from Hamas and the Palestinian Authority

However, the plan has drawn intense international criticism and concern.

The United Nations has warned that a complete military takeover of Gaza could lead to catastrophic humanitarian consequences for Palestinian civilians and endanger Israeli hostages still held in the territory.

Furthermore, key global players including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Turkey, Finland, and Canada have voiced strong opposition to the plan.

This growing domestic unrest coupled with mounting international pressure highlights the complexity and sensitivity surrounding the Gaza conflict and the urgent need for diplomatic solutions.
