Lutfi Haziri, a Member of Parliament from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), has stated that the coalition between LDK and Vetëvendosje (VV) was the most popular and beloved among Kosovo’s citizens.
Speaking to Tëvë1, Haziri said that in 2019 the two parties were very close to forming a joint pre-election list.
“Kosovo has never had a more popular and beloved coalition than LDK–VV. But now, this is a new political situation. Why do I say it’s never happened before? Because the first and second political forces built a joint platform. We were very close to creating a joint pre-election list in 2019,” Haziri stated.
However, according to him, the agreement failed because Albin Kurti refused to give Vjosa Osmani the top spot on the list.
“We were ready to enter, but do you know who didn’t allow a single list to happen? Albin Kurti—because he didn’t give Vjosa the number one spot. He did not accept Vjosa Osmani to run as number one on the list, as he wanted it for himself. That was all—only a number issue, nothing else,” Haziri declared.
