Agim Musliu, former director at the Institute for Hybrid War Studies “OCTOPUS” spoke about the manipulations of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who continues to use the Serbian List as an extended hand to block institutions in northern Kosovo while blaming Pristina to international partners.

“Over the past two years, President Vučić and the Serbian List have spent energy blocking institutions in northern Kosovo, constantly complaining and putting pressure on QUINT countries with the narrative that Kosovo should yield.

The result? Only lost time for our international partners and a failed attempt to portray themselves as ‘defenders’ of Kosovo Serbs,” Musliu stated.

He recalled that Vučić is reintegrating the Serbian List ahead of the local elections on October 12, effectively legitimizing the situation he himself created with the boycott.

“This is Vučić: first he pulls Serbs out of institutions, then he brings them back, using this move as a bargaining chip with the US and EU,” Musliu added.

Musliu emphasized that the Kosovo government and security institutions acted correctly by not falling for this political and diplomatic pressure, resisting Vučić’s maneuver, maintaining institutional integrity, and preventing northern Kosovo from being used as a political bargaining tool.

“This firm stance was crucial to denying Belgrade the advantage it sought.”
