The Special Prosecution, having determined that all legal conditions have been met, has submitted a request to the Basic Court in Prishtina for a 30-day pretrial detention for the accused Lj.M., due to a well-founded suspicion that he committed the following criminal offenses:
– Participation in unconstitutional activities,
– Endangering persons under international protection,
– Participation in a crowd committing criminal offenses and hooliganism,
– Attack on an official person.
According to the Special Prosecution’s request, the accused Lj.M. is suspected of, on May 29, 2023, in front of the Zvečan Municipality building, together with other suspects, attacking KFOR members, Kosovo Police officers, and journalists reporting on the incident with stones, Molotov cocktails, and weapons.
“During the investigation and the search of the accused’s residence, material evidence was secured, including a phone, various military uniforms, two USB drives, and a T-shirt with nationalist inscriptions, which confirm the accused’s criminal actions on the critical day,” the statement reads.
The Special Prosecution assures the citizens of the country that it remains committed to a full investigation and to prosecuting all perpetrators of these criminal acts.
