Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized that the Palestinian people need “our collective action” during the opening of an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the situation in Gaza, Anadolu reports.

Fidan urged coordinated action from OIC member states to support Gaza.

“The Palestinian people need our collective action,” he declared at the start of the meeting in Jeddah, stressing the importance of “coordinated pressure” to compel Israel toward a sustainable solution.

The session, chaired by Fidan, aims to align the positions and responses of OIC member states regarding Israel’s ongoing actions in Gaza.

Israeli strikes have killed around 62,700 Palestinians since October 2023, devastating the enclave’s infrastructure, while Gaza continues to face severe food shortages and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
