Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has warned that Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza risk plunging the entire region into conflict if not stopped immediately.
Speaking during an emergency session of the Turkish Parliament on Israeli actions in Gaza, Fidan stated:
“Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza for two years, blatantly disregarding basic human values before the eyes of the entire world.”
He further added:
“If Israel is allowed to continue its reckless attacks in Gaza, the consequences will not be limited to Palestinians—it will ignite the entire region.”
In response to the situation, Turkey has announced the suspension of all forms of trade with Israel, the closure of Turkish airspace to Israeli aircraft, and a ban on Turkish ships docking at Israeli ports.
Fidan also rejected any proposal to displace Palestinians from Gaza, calling it “invalid”, and emphasized that Palestinian resistance is a historic struggle, which he described as:
“…a struggle that will change the course of history, become a symbol for the oppressed, and shake the foundations of a crumbling system.”
