Nenad Rašić has failed to secure the necessary votes to be elected Deputy Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly from the Serbian community, even on his third and final attempt, reports Reporteri.net.

He received 56 votes in favor, none against, and 21 abstentions.

“Deputy Rašić has not received enough votes to be elected Deputy Speaker and is therefore eliminated from the race,” said Assembly Speaker Dimal Basha.

Unlike previous sessions, Rašić refused to be present today to oversee the draw for the Deputy Speaker position.

Following Rašić’s elimination, Igor Simić, the remaining candidate, also failed to secure enough votes.

As a result, the election for Deputy Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly from the Serbian community remains unresolved, and the session was officially closed.

However, Assembly Speaker Dimal Basha has called for a meeting of all Deputy Speakers on Monday, September 1, at 11:00 AM, signaling that discussions on resolving the stalemate will continue.
