Albulena Haxhiu, Deputy Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, stressed that it is urgent for institutions to function and for the country to move forward, either through the formation of a new government or via new elections.

After the conclusion of the Assembly session, Haxhiu emphasized that work must begin immediately with the elected Speaker and Deputy Speakers, even though a representative from the Serbian community has not yet been chosen.

“It is unacceptable that a party which does not recognize our state claims a role in democratic processes that it itself denies. We must not remain hostage to those who reject the existence of our state,” Haxhiu said.

She added that the Vetëvendosje Movement is committed to moving forward institutionally.

“It is important to proceed with the leadership, the elected Speaker, and Deputy Speakers. We are determined to move forward either with a new government or through elections,” Haxhiu concluded.
