Acting Chief Prosecutor Calls for Commitment to Ensure Integrity of Electoral Process

The Acting Chief Prosecutor of the State, Mr. Besim Kelmendi, held a regular collegium meeting with the chief prosecutors of all prosecutor offices, as well as with prosecutors from the Office of the State Chief Prosecutor.

During the meeting, important topics were discussed, including the management of case files and the handling of criminal complaints within the legally established deadlines, the implementation of covert investigative measures in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, the processing of reports from the Kosovo Tax Administration in criminal proceedings, and other professional matters.

Another key point of discussion was the preparations by the State Prosecutor’s Office for the upcoming local elections scheduled for October 12, 2025, with particular emphasis on the engagement of prosecutors in preventing and investigating election-related criminal offenses.

On this occasion, the Acting Chief Prosecutor, together with the National Election Coordinator, called on chief prosecutors to designate responsible prosecutors who will be actively engaged nationwide to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
