US President Donald Trump will meet with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, according to Reuters.

The meeting, expected to take place today, comes just three days after the Israeli strike in Doha. A White House official confirmed the upcoming talks but did not share details about the time or agenda.

Earlier this week, Israel attempted to target Hamas political leaders in Qatar with a strike on Tuesday. The attack threatened to undermine US-backed ceasefire efforts in Gaza and efforts to end the ongoing conflict.

The strike was widely condemned internationally.

Despite Israel’s attempts to justify the operation, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani described it as a threat to peace negotiations between Hamas and Israel, which Qatar has been mediating.
