Today at 14:00, a protest is set to take place in The Hague against perceived injustices toward former UÇK leaders currently on trial at the Special Court.

Fatmir Limaj, former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) and current leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA), expressed his full support for the demonstration.

Limaj stated that Kosovo’s history cannot be dictated by unjust charges.

Full Statement:
*”From all over the world, our compatriots have gathered in The Hague today to demand justice and the immediate release of UÇK leaders who are being held unjustly.

I stand with them, without reservation, defending the values of our liberation struggle, the sacrifices made, and our national dignity.

As a fellow fighter who shared hours, days, and battles with them from the beginning of the war, I know well that Kosovo’s history cannot be written by unjust accusations aimed at tarnishing our sacrifice. Our war was and remains a just liberation struggle for freedom and democracy, supported by friends and allies who recognized the truth of our cause.

In solidarity with the protesters in The Hague, NISMA has decided not to hold any electoral activities today.

Today, we choose to stand with you, with justice, and with the truth. Together, we must ensure that the voice of the people is heard, that the sacrifice of a nation is not tarnished, and that justice prevails.”*
