The hearing for Slavko Simiq, vice-president of the Serbian List and a member of the Kosovo Assembly, who faces charges of “Participation in a Crowd Committing a Criminal Offense and Hooliganism,” has been postponed to October 9 at 13:30.

On June 13, 2025, the Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica announced that it had filed charges against the individual with the initials S.S., a member of the Kosovo Assembly, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Participation in a Crowd Committing a Criminal Offense and Hooliganism,” under Article 404, paragraph 2, in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

“On June 16, 2023, during protests against the visit of former Minister E.K. in Leposaviq, the defendant S.S. deliberately took part in a crowd of more than eight people. When the minister exited the municipal building, masked civilians began throwing stun grenades at the official vehicle. After the vehicle passed, the defendant instructed the crowd to attack the media, continuing assaults against journalists and media outlets of the Republic of Kosovo, first with stun grenades and then by striking them with fists, kicks, and heavy objects such as concrete blocks, bricks, paint, and other items, resulting in serious bodily injuries to two journalists.”

The other defendant, U.V., directly involved in the use of force against journalists in the Republic of Kosovo, is accused of committing the criminal offenses of “Assault” under Article 184, paragraph 3, subparagraph 3.1 of the KPRK, and “Participation in a Crowd Committing a Criminal Offense and Hooliganism” under Article 404, paragraph 1 of the Kosovo Criminal Code.

The Basic Prosecution in Mitrovica requested that the court find both defendants guilty of the criminal acts committed and punish them according to the law.
