A suspicious death has been reported this morning in the municipality of Zubin Potok.
At around 07:20, police were notified that a woman had drowned in the Ibër Lepenc water canal, in the village of Lower Jasenovik.
Police patrol units, investigators, and firefighters immediately responded to the scene and began search efforts. By 07:55, officers located the victim’s body approximately 3–4 kilometers from the suspected fall point, near the Zubin Potok police station.
The victim was identified as Radmila Trifunović (born 1965). Medical staff from the local health center confirmed her death at the scene.
Two family members told police that the victim had been suffering from serious health problems.
At 08:50, the regional investigation unit arrived at the scene and, following instructions from the prosecutor, ordered the body to be sent for autopsy at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pristina. An hour later, the body was transported to IML, and police concluded their on-site operations.
The case is officially being treated as a “suspicious death” and is under investigation.
