The Basic Prosecution has filed an indictment against Naim and Ahmet Berisha, Lum Halimaj, and Kaltrim Gashi in connection with the double murder in Kolovicë, Prishtina, on March 26, 2024, where victims E.H. and Z.G. lost their lives.

According to the indictment, the armed confrontation was triggered by revenge related to drug trafficking disputes, leading not only to the killings but also to serious injuries of others.

The defendants are charged with “Aggravated Murder” committed in co-perpetration and “Unauthorized Possession of Weapons.” Authorities confirmed that Naim and Ahmet Berisha, as well as Kaltrim Gashi, remain at large.

Key Points from the Indictment

  • First Count: Around 21:10 on March 26, 2024, on “Butrinti” street, Ahmet and Naim Berisha armed with firearms, fatally shot victim E.H., endangering others in the process. The motive was retaliation for an earlier attempted murder targeting Naim Berisha, tied to narcotics trade.
  • Second Count: At the same time and place, Lum Halimaj and Kaltrim Gashi, armed with AK-47 rifles, shot and killed victim Z.G., while also endangering several others, including bystanders. The clash stemmed from an ongoing feud over narcotics distribution.
  • Third Count: All four defendants are accused of illegal possession of firearms, including Scorpion and Kalashnikov-type weapons, used in the crime.

The violent confrontation left two dead and multiple people injured, highlighting how drug-related vendettas continue to fuel organized crime violence in Kosovo’s capital.
