Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla, announced that during the meeting of the Group of Friends for Accountability of the Aggression Against Ukraine, she emphasized that without accountability, there can be no sustainable peace.

Gërvalla stated that impunity fuels destabilization, as exemplified by the attack in Banjskë on September 24, 2023. She added that Kosovo deeply understands the cost of freedom and values the role of the international community and allies.

“I condemned the Russian aggression against Ukraine and stressed that impunity fuels destabilization, as demonstrated by the attack on September 24, 2023, in Banjskë. With Ukraine, we share the grief for lost lives and the respect for the stoic resilience of the Ukrainian people. Our support for Ukraine remains concrete and transparent. In Kosovo, we know well the price of freedom and the value of action by the international community and our allies. And when aggression goes unpunished, it risks being repeated. Therefore, we demand full accountability for ongoing crimes in Ukraine and the protection of rules that ensure everyone’s security. Kosovo will stand with Ukraine with clear actions and without taking a step back until aggression is halted and justice is served. Glory to Ukraine and its freedom,” she wrote on Facebook.
