The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) announced that its leader, Ali Ahmeti, will cancel all party activities on October 17, the final day of the election campaign, to participate in a nationwide protest in Tirana. The protest is organized by groups emerging from the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).

The demonstration will take place at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, starting at 17:00, under the motto: “Justice for the Liberators, Against Injustice in The Hague.”

“Ali Ahmeti, who was also present at the protest in Prishtina as a co-founder of the Kosovo Liberation Army, accepted the organizers’ invitation to be part of this major nationwide protest,” the BDI statement read.

BDI emphasized that the Albanian people’s war led by the UÇK was just, necessary, and supported by the democratic, Western, and freedom-loving world. Post-war developments and numerous local and international judicial processes have clearly demonstrated the legitimacy of the struggle for freedom, democracy, and independence.

The party highlighted that justice for the Albanian people cannot be built on political processes imposed by Russia or fabricated evidence from Serbia. As an inseparable part of the national liberation struggle, Ali Ahmeti strongly supports the protest, which is why he has canceled all election campaign activities.
