The KFOR troops, led by NATO’s Regional Command West (RC-W) and the Liaison Monitoring Teams (LMT), have successfully carried out the exercise “Rapid Rescue.”

  • During the exercise, an Italian company from the RC-W Kinetic Battalion, acting as the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), simulated a crisis scenario to recover and evacuate Polish KFOR personnel assigned to the LMT.
  • The exercise tested the technical skills, coordination, and adaptability of the participating units.

“‘Rapid Rescue’ is part of a continuous training schedule designed to strengthen interoperability and maintain readiness to respond effectively to emergency situations across the operational area,” KFOR stated.

  • KFOR continues to implement its mandate under UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999), aiming to maintain a safe environment for all people and communities in Kosovo and ensuring freedom of movement at all times.
  • The mission works closely with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in their respective security response roles.
