According to data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK), the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) increased by 4.7% in September 2025 compared to the same period last year, i.e., September 2024.

Meanwhile, monthly inflation recorded a decline of -0.2% compared to August 2025. The annual price increase was mainly influenced by higher costs in several categories of goods and services.

Among them, organized holiday packages rose by 23.1%, airline tickets by 22.5%, electricity by 17.4%, coffee, tea, and cocoa by 14.2%, and fruits by 13.0%.

Significant increases were also seen in meat (12.1%), milk, cheese, and eggs (8.8%), hotel services (8.3%), and oils and fats (6.8%).

These subcategories had the largest impact on annual inflation, with a combined effect of 4.9% on the HICP.

On the other hand, a price decrease was recorded for fuels and lubricants for personal transport, at -3.1%, affecting the overall index by -0.2%. Compared to August 2025, average consumer prices in September fell by 0.2%.

This monthly decline was mainly explained by reductions in fuel and lubricants (-3.6%), fruits (-2.8%), airline tickets (-1.6%), and electricity (-1.2%).

However, some categories experienced increases, including solid fuels such as wood and pellets (1.4%), milk, cheese, and eggs (1.1%), vehicle purchases (0.6%), and hotel services (0.4%).

ASK notes that these price fluctuations directly affect the monthly and annual inflation rate, which is measured through the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).
