A large-scale operation conducted by the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes took place on October 19, 2025, in the northern municipalities of Zvecan and Zubin Potok, aimed at executing a warrant issued by the Basic Court in Prishtina – Special Department. The case relates to the 2013 killing of UNMIK officer Audrius Senavicius, one of the most sensitive incidents in northern Kosovo’s post-war history.
According to information obtained by Rks News three suspects were identified and arrested in connection with the offenses of “Endangering United Nations personnel or related personnel,” “Aggravated Murder,” and “Assault on an Official Person While Performing Official Duties.”
The arrested individuals are:
- Ljubomir Milentijević
- Saša Kasalović
- Radomir Kasalović
The operation was carried out across eight different locations in the municipalities of Zvečan and Zubin Potok. During the searches, authorities seized:
mobile phones, electronic devices, Kosovo Police uniforms, military uniforms, bullet casings, ammunition, knives, bayonets, bulletproof vests, and other evidence linked to the case.
In total, three individuals were interviewed as suspects and four as witnesses, while one person remains at large.
After being interrogated in the presence of their defense attorneys, and by order of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, the suspects were released pending further investigation, which remains ongoing.
Meanwhile, based on the seized material—particularly the ammunition and shell casings—the Basic Prosecution of Mitrovica has initiated two separate cases for the criminal offense of “Unauthorized Ownership, Control, or Possession of Weapons.”
This operation brings renewed attention to one of the most sensitive post-war cases in northern Kosovo. On September 19, 2013, in the village of Ballaban, Zvečan, during a police operation, UNMIK officer Audrius Senavicius was shot and killed—an incident that deeply shocked both local and international institutions.
