The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has submitted a request to the Basic Court in Pristina to impose a pre-trial detention measure against the suspect S.J., on suspicion of involvement in unauthorized purchase, possession, distribution, and sale of narcotics or psychotropic substances.

According to the Prosecution, S.J. allegedly intended to transport a large quantity of narcotics to another country. During the inspection of the truck driven by the suspect, law enforcement authorities found and seized 268.44 kilograms of a substance believed to be marijuana.

Investigators suspect that the drugs were imported from the Republic of Albania, with European Union countries as their intended destination.

The Special Prosecution has requested that the suspect be held in detention for one month, citing the risk of flight and the possibility that he could interfere with the ongoing criminal investigation.
