Prime-minister-designate Glauk Konjufca has only five days left to propose the new government composition to the Assembly. His nomination as prime minister has not changed the positions of the parliamentary parties.

The deputy leader of Vetëvendosje, Glauk Konjufca, has a deadline until November 19 to submit to the Assembly the proposed composition of the new government, in order to determine whether he has the necessary votes to form the new executive.

Although on the very day he was appointed as the nominee, Konjufca called on all parliamentary parties to put aside political grudges and vote for a temporary Government until April of next year—when the mandate of the current president, Vjosa Osmani, expires—so far no party has shown any sign that it will support this idea.

Konjufca’s nomination for prime minister by Vetëvendosje has not altered the stance of the parliamentary parties.

The Democratic Party, the Democratic League, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, and the Social Democratic Initiative have publicly stated that they will not support a government led by Konjufca and have insisted that the country should head to elections.

The resigned chairman of PDK, Memli Krasniqi, emphasized that Konjufca does not have the numbers and that the country is moving toward early elections. LDK Presidency member Berat Rukiqi stated that the issue of the new nominee is merely a tactic by Vetëvendosje to buy time.

Meanwhile, the head of AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, revealed that he was contacted by Konjufca’s office for a meeting, but he refused, claiming there was no serious proposal involved.
