Former Vetëvendosje MP Enver Dugolli commented on the upcoming snap parliamentary elections scheduled for 28 December, expressing concerns over the missed opportunity to secure crucial state interests before going to the polls.
Dugolli said he had hoped opposition parties would at least vote for the second designated mandate-holder, Glauk Konjufca, noting that elections would be costly for the state and were unnecessary under the circumstances.
He emphasized that the budget for three municipalities—Prishtina, Gjilan, and Zubin Potok—as well as the 2026 state budget, should have been approved to prevent losing millions in international agreements from which Kosovo and its citizens could benefit.
“Now we face a situation where everything is clear: on 28 December, citizens will give their verdict and decide their future, strengthening the objectives they see fit. Personally, as a citizen and former MP, I hoped that political parties would rise above themselves and make decisions that impact all citizens, not just political parties. It never crossed my mind that agreements affecting Kosovo’s projects worth over 200 million euros, the Growth Plan, and other necessary decisions, including municipal and annual budgets, would be rejected. Approving these beforehand would have ensured greater security for the state and comfort for citizens regarding their future,” Dugolli said.
