Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, commemorated Xhemail Mustafa on the anniversary of his assassination, describing him as one of the most powerful intellectual voices defending the ideals of freedom and Kosovo’s independence.

Osmani noted that Mustafa was an unwavering collaborator of the historic President, Ibrahim Rugova, and one of the key figures who contributed to articulating the political thought that ultimately led to the country’s independence.

“On this anniversary, we honor Xhemail Mustafa, one of the most articulate voices of freedom, the intellectual who defended the ideal of an independent Kosovo with pen, courage, and vision. He was the unwavering collaborator of the historic President, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, and one of the architects of the political thought that led us to the state we have today,” Osmani wrote.

The President emphasized that the wounds of the past cannot be closed without justice, calling for full clarification of Mustafa’s assassination, which she described as a duty of the Republic, not just a moral demand.

“Glory to the life, work, and sacrifice of Xhemail Mustafa!” concluded Osmani.
