The employees of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) are continuing their general strike due to the non-payment of salaries.
The RTK Workers’ Union announced that the strike will take place every day from 11:00 to 13:00, during which all work in every sector will be suspended.
The Radio Kosovo Trade Union Association has also informed staff that, starting today, a two-hour strike will be organized in front of the Radio Kosovo building.
The Association has again called on the responsible institutions to take urgent measures to resolve this issue, so that workers’ legal rights are guaranteed and the institution can continue its operations without disruptions.
The unions warn that the strike will continue until the budget for RTK is allocated. In addition to the strike, they plan to organize a protest in front of the Government and the Assembly in the coming days.
In the absence of salaries and an institutional solution, the functioning of programming and the public mission of the country’s only public broadcaster is at serious risk.
