President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani announced that she met with Arbnor Spahiu, the former member of the Kosovo Police Special Unit who was recently released from Serbian detention after several months of being held in custody.

In a public statement, Osmani said:
“Yesterday I welcomed former member of the Kosovo Police Special Unit, Arbnor Spahiu, who has been released from pre-trial detention in Serbia after months of being held hostage.”

She added that she wished Spahiu a smooth reintegration after his release.
“I wished Arbnor all the best with his family and an easy return to normal life,” the President emphasized.

Osmani Issues Travel Warning: Avoid Serbia During the Holiday Season

President Osmani also issued a strong warning to Kosovo citizens living abroad, especially those traveling home for the end-of-year holidays.

“To our citizens living outside Kosovo, especially those planning to travel home during the holiday season, I urge you to avoid passing through Serbia,” Osmani wrote.

She stressed that Serbia continues to be governed by structures that maintain the same mindset as the former Serbian regime, posing a risk to Kosovo Albanians traveling through the territory.

Osmani has repeatedly warned institutions and citizens that Serbia’s authorities continue to detain, intimidate, and target Kosovo citizens, especially former members of the Kosovo Security institutions.
