The Vetëvendosje (VV) movement in Prishtina has confirmed that it will participate and vote in favor of transferring the capital’s own revenues during the extraordinary session of the Prishtina Municipal Assembly scheduled for Thursday, 27 November.
VV assembly member Egzon Azemi clarified that the legality of the session is not their responsibility but falls under the Ministry of Local Government Administration (MAPL). He noted that the session was called late, creating unnecessary controversy.
“MAPL evaluates whether it is legal or not. Rama could have called this session in October or September, which would have avoided controversies. Nevertheless, our position is clear: we will participate in the session and vote for the revenue transfer. We have never been blockers of the Assembly,” said Azemi on KTV’s “60 Minuta” program.
The extraordinary session, called by the Assembly Chair, will address two main issues:
- The transfer of own revenues from 2024 to 2025.
- The Prishtina budget for 2026.
Azemi did not indicate whether VV would support the 2026 budget, explaining that they had previously opposed it due to the inclusion of the “George Bush Square” project, which remained despite their requests for its removal.
“We requested the removal of the ‘George Bush’ project as it is under judicial review. However, it was not removed,” he added.
