The Ibër-Lepenc canal has suffered new damage, authorities report.
According to the Kosovo Police, unknown individuals used heavy tools to damage a section of the canal, the daily report states. The incident reportedly occurred between March 22 and March 25.
Petrit Fejza, head of regional operations for North Mitrovica, told Reporteri.net that the damage is estimated at around €3,000–4,000.
Fejza explained:
“On November 25, 2025, at around 12:15, the complainant, a worker at the Ibër-Lepenc canal, reported that a plastic tarp laid on the bypass was damaged. The estimated damage is approximately €3,000–4,000. Police units inspected the site, and the public prosecutor has been notified. The case is being investigated as ‘destruction or damage of property’.”
This is not the first attack on the canal. On November 29, 2024, an explosion occurred at the same canal, which Kosovo classified as a terrorist act and accused Serbia of organizing.
