Ukraine and Canada are discussing new coordinated measures to increase pressure on Russia, including additional sanctions and new diplomatic steps at the United Nations.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that he held a conversation with his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand, during which he thanked her for Canada’s continued support and for Prime Minister Mark Carney’s participation in the latest “coalition of the willing” meeting.

According to Sybiha, the discussions focused on ongoing efforts for peace, coordination with the United States, and next steps to strengthen international pressure on Moscow. He emphasized that both sides agreed to work on new sanctions, additional UN resolutions, and measures targeting the use of frozen Russian assets for the protection and reconstruction of Ukraine.

“We will use every opportunity to bring peace closer,” Sybiha said, expressing gratitude to Canada and other partners for their continued support and Minister Anand’s personal solidarity with Ukraine.
