Today marks 27 years since the heroic fall of Hyzri Talla, Afrim Maliqi, and Ilir Durmishi—three men whose sacrifice remains deeply engraved in Kosovo’s path toward freedom.

The three were killed on 2 December 1998 by the Serbian secret service near the Student Center in Prishtina, during one of the most critical phases of Kosovo’s struggle for liberation.

All three have been decorated by the Presidency of Kosovo for their extraordinary contribution.

Hyzri Talla was a fighter of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).
Afrim Maliqi was a journalist, essayist, and poet, known for his intellectual bravery and commitment to national causes.
Ilir Durmishi was a distinguished soldier of the UÇK, remembered for his courage on the frontlines.

Their legacy continues to symbolize resistance, dignity, and the price of freedom for the people of Kosovo.
