The Senior Political Advisor to the Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Ambassador Babur Hizlan, held a meeting with the newly elected mayors of the four northern municipalities of Kosovo.
According to KFOR’s official statement, Ambassador Hizlan met with Milan Radojević, Zoran Todić, Dragiša Milović and Miloš Perović, in a delegation led by Igor Simić, the Head of the Serbian List Parliamentary Group in the Assembly of Kosovo.
“They exchanged views on a range of issues. Ambassador Hizlan congratulated the elected mayors and emphasized the importance of a peaceful transition process. He also wished them success in their important future work in support of all people living in Kosovo and reaffirmed KFOR’s unwavering commitment to its long-standing UN mandate,” the statement reads.
This meeting comes at a moment when international actors are closely monitoring developments in the north, especially following the recent municipal transitions — a process seen as essential for stability, de-escalation, and institutional functionality in an area long affected by political tension and foreign interference.
